Nexus Letters
Making the Compensation and Pension Process Accessible
We provide expert nexus letter services to support veterans seeking VA disability benefits. All of our clinicians have extensive experience both working for the VA and conducting Compensation and Pension (C&P) evaluations, giving us a deep understanding of what a nexus letter requires and how it is used in the VA claims process. We conduct thorough evaluations, review medical and military records, and provide a clear, evidence-based opinion linking a veteran’s current condition to their service. Each nexus letter is written to meet VA standards, offering a professional, credible, and well-documented opinion designed to strengthen claims and appeals, helping veterans secure the benefits they deserve. We know how hard it is to navigate this process, so we are here to help provide support in addition to your VSO.
Nexus letter appointments are conducted virtually for greater accessibility and flexibility to meet your needs.
A Guide to your Nexus Appointment
During a nexus letter appointment with us, you can expect a thorough, professional evaluation focused on understanding your psychological condition and its connection to your military service. We will review your military and medical records, discuss your service history, and conduct any necessary assessments or interviews. This information is used to provide a clear, evidence-based opinion in the nexus letter, which is written to meet VA standards and support your disability claim or appeal. Throughout the appointment, our goal is to make the process clear, collaborative, and focused on accurately documenting your service-related condition.
None are specifically required, but more information is better. We often review military service records, DD214, and mental health records.
For or the nexus letter, what’s most important is how the event affected you—your symptoms, emotional responses, and how it has impacted your daily life. Sharing this information allows us to accurately document the connection between your military service and your mental health while keeping the focus on your experiences and wellbeing. As trained trauma therapists, we understand the discomfort this may cause. Please know how important we view your mental health and we are fully prepared to guide you through the process as not to leave the appointment activated or in crisis.
Of course. We have a deep respect for how difficult these conversations can be. As long as you are consenting, we are happy to welcome your support person to the appointment.
Cost is dependent on our findings. If we conduct an assessment and are not able to provide a mental health diagnosis or nexus letter for any reason, we do not bill our full rate. Nexus letters are released to you as a PDF once full fees have been collected. We use Clover to sent an electronic invoice to your email, or can collect your billing information before beginning the session.
Examination and Nexus Letter: $500
Examination without Nexus Letter: $150
